Mrs. Mathiesen has been a resident of East Stroudsburg since her birth. She attended St. Matthew’s Parochial School, now known as Notre Dame Elementary. She continued her education at Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School until after her 9^th grade year and then she finished high school at Stroudsburg. Mrs. Mathiesen received a BS Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics from East Stroudsburg University in 1987. She began teaching at Notre Dame Elementary in 1988 as a second grade teacher. While at Notre Dame, Mrs. Mathiesen has earned her Religious Education Certificate. She is a mentor to new teachers and a cooperating teacher for student teachers of East Stroudsburg University.

          In her private life, Mrs. Mathiesen has coached youth softball since her college years. She enjoys camping, boating, water skiing and snowmobiling with her family on weekends. Mrs. Mathiesen also spends a lot of time running her two children, Jessica and Ryan, to their activities.

          Mr. and Mrs. Mathiesen have been married since 1987. We were blessed with our first child, Jessica, in 1992 and our second child, Ryan, in 1997. In September of ’07 we welcomed our four legged child, Layla, a black lab mix, into our family. We also have two stray cats we adopted, Sugar and Smokey. Mrs. Mathiesen still resides in East Stroudsburg with her family.
