DETENTION
Detention may be given by any teacher to any child who violates school rules. The teacher giving the detention must inform the child's parents and make arrangements with the parent for transportation home from school.
Some of the offenses which merit detention are:
1. Violation of the dress code
2. Fighting
3. Disrespect
4. Chewing gum or eating candy
5. Use of profanity (improper language)
6. Damaging property (parents are held responsible for repair and/or replacement)
7. Disrupting class
8. Disorderly conduct
9. Neglect of assigned class work or homework
There will be other times and circumstances when detention will be warranted at the discretion of the teacher/principal which are not mentioned above.
